As the world continues it’s fight against the coronavirus, a grim milestone has been reached.
According to figures from Johns Hopkins University, global cases have surpassed 20 million and there are almost 750 thousand deaths worldwide.
According to the university, the rise is driven in large part by Latin America and the Caribbean and Asia, where cases are growing again.
Brazil has more than three million cases and 100,000 deaths.
The country remains behind the US, which recently surpassed five million cases and 160,000 deaths.
India has the third-highest number of cases with more than two million.
But some countries have seen success in their efforts to stop the spread.
New Zealand recently celebrated 100 days with no community transmission.
And Rwanda is seeing progess thanks to its efforts including free testing and treatment and health workers testing the contacts of all those who test positive.
