This is what you will see at the White House and government buildings all across the country: American flags flying at half staff.
On Thursday President Trump tweeted that he was issuing an order to lower all flags to half staff in honor of coronavirus victims and members of the military.
Flags on all federal buildings and national monuments will be lowered over the next three days and will remain at half staff until noon on Monday to commemorate the Memorial Day holiday.
The move comes after House Speaker Nancy Pelosi and Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer requested for flags to be lowered when the virus death toll in the US reaches 100,000.
As of Friday morning, the death toll stands at 95,087.
According to Johns Hopkins University, the virus continues to spread with more than 1 1/2 million confirmed cases in the US.
