Investigators believe that the attackers in Tuesday’s deadly shooting in Jersey City, New Jersey held a hatred for Jews and law enforcement.
The hourslong standoff between armed suspects and law-enforcement left six people dead including, three civilians, one police officer and the two suspects.
The two suspects who were killed in the standoff are 47-year-old David Anderson 50-year-old Francine Graham.
Police say the standoff stretched across three locations including the Jersey City Kosher Supermarket, where the three civilians and two suspects were found dead.
Police believe the suspects targeted the Jewish supermarket, and that they apparently held a hatred for Jews and law enforcement.
Sources say the attackers were driving a vehicle containing anti-Semitic and anti-police writings.
Social media posts with similar sentiments have also been found online.
And the New York Times says Anderson appears to have a connection to the Black Hebrew Israelites movement, which has expressed anti-Semitic sentiments.
Express say investigators are likely focusing on whether was a hate crime and whether the two suspects acted alone.
