October is breast cancer awareness month.
Some women are diagnosed with breast cancer after noticing symptoms but many women have no symptoms at all.
Forty-one-year-old Bal Gill falls into the latter category.
In May she made a trip to “Camera Obscura and World of Illusions” tourist attraction in Edinburgh, Scotland.
As she was looking back over images from her trip, she noticed a heat patch over her breasts taken by a thermal camera.
She made an appointment with the doctor and incredibly was diagnosed with early-stage breast cancer.
She has since had two surgeries and has another scheduled to prevent the cancer from spreading.
Gill may have had a lucky break thanks to the thermal imaging camera but medical experts do not recommend using the device for breast cancer screening or diagnosis.
Experts recommend getting mammograms starting from around the age of forty and onwards.
