24 states see uptick in new coronavirus cases

There is a spike in Covid cases in several US states.

According to the CDC, America will surpass 135,000 coronavirus deaths over the next three weeks.

Health experts say the states in red seem to be going in the wrong direction.

This week they recorded their highest seven-day averages in new Covid cases.

In Texas officials fear a rise in hospitalizations and death rates.

Oklahoma is also seeing a steady Covid climb as President Trump prepares to pack an indoor arena in Tulsa with 20,000 supporters.

Masks are optional.

There is concern that the rally will be a Covid 19 “super spreader” because it violates nearly all the safety guidelines set up by the CDC.

But some states are making masks mandatory.

Starting today Dallas is one of many Texas cities requiring face coverings in businesses.

Violators could face a $500 fine.

In Houston officials are pleading with people to put politics aside when it comes to covering up.

Masks are also a must in Phoenix Arizona as a result of a massive jump in Covid cases across the state.

Arizona saw record breaking numbers every day this week.

And one retail giant is taking a step back.

Apple is re-closing stores in Florida, the Carolinas and Arizona because of the spike in coronavirus cases.
