According to new study by the University of Chicago, happiness has taken a hit because of the pandemic.
Researchers surveyed more than 22-hundred people online and on the phone.
They found that only 14-percent of Americans say they’re very happy right now.
That’s the lowest number in the past five decades.
What’s unique is this drop comes despite 80-percent of people also saying that they are satisfied with their family’s financial situation.
That number is at an all-time high.
According to researchers, the findings suggest people are measuring their happiness based on their own psychological well-being.
At the same time, they are comparing their finances to the millions of laid-off and struggling Americans.
