Monday is Memorial Day.
It’s a tradition that’s spanned 152 years, honoring those who died in service to this country.
The coronavirus can’t stop this day but it has changed it.
As Americans celebrated Memorial Day weekend, some heeded measures such as social distancing and while others did not.
Crowds packed beaches in Florida, Maryland, Georgia, Virginia and Indiana, many venturing without masks.
This was the scene Saturday at an event called “Orlando Invades Daytona.”
Police say between five to ten-thousand were there and were not socially distancing.
Officers say everything was peaceful until nighttime when gunshots rang out.
Six people were hurt and no one died.
A suspect has been arrested.
But police are looking for a man who was apparently throwing money at people while making a rap video.
On Saturday in Missouri social distancing was out the window at a holiday pool party.
This video shows a crowd of people packing a swimming pool near the Lake of the Ozarks.
And in the neighboring Arkansas, several people contracted the coronavirus after going to high school pool party.
