A new study says there is no evidence that people who have had Covid-19 will get the virus again.
That’s the new warning from the World Health Organization.
WHO released a scientific brief in response to some governments that are considering issuing so-called “immunity passports.”
The passports would allow people who have already tested positive for the virus and recovered to return to work or travel.
Some studies have suggested people who have recovered from the infection have antibodies to the virus.
But the WHO says there is simply not enough research to support whether the presence of antibodies means immunity to the virus.
The World Health Organization says it could be weeks or even months before we know which drugs help treat Covid 19.
In the meantime the search to find a vaccine is ramping up and people are lining up across the country to become part of human clinical trials.
People like Sean Doyle.
Doyle is one of 45 people in Atlanta and Seattle to volunteer for Phase 1 of the study testing the safety of the vaccine called MRNA1273.
If the vaccine is successful, it may help the world get back to normal faster.
Of course there are unknowns and risks associated with human clinical trials.
But Doyle is willing to take the risk.
This may or may not surprise you but Doyle is a medical student that also took part in a vaccine trial for Ebola in 2017.
He says he’s always been willing to subject himself to potential risks in the name of science.
