During Thursday’s White House coronavirus task force press conference, President Trump suggested the possibility of injecting disinfectants to protect people from coronavirus.
The company that makes Lysol immediately issued an urgent warning to consumers: Do not consume our cleaning products!
That warning was followed by an onslaught of other companies and health officials around the world reminding consumers of the dangers of consuming disinfectant products.
Reckitt Benckiser, a British company, said “under no circumstances should our disinfectant products be administered into the human body through injection, ingestion or any other route.”
It said it issued the statement after “recent speculation and social media activity.”
Dr. Stephen Hahn, the medical expert employed by the Trump administration, even said ingesting or injecting disinfectants is dangerous.
The CDC recommends using soap and water, bleach or rubbing alcohol with 70% alcohol to kill the virus externally.
Again – and we cannot stress this enough – experts say do not ingest or inject disinfectants, bleach or alcohol in your body to kill coronavirus.
