On Monday a popular Florida pastor was arrested for holding large church services despite social distancing orders.
Pastor Rodney Howard-Browne was arrested in Hernando County and later released on a five-hundred dollar bond.
He’s facing charges of unlawful assembly and violating emergency public health rules.
Officials say Howard-Browne has been asked to stop holding large services in his “River at Tampa Bay” church.
But on Sunday he still went ahead and packed the church with worshipers.
Hundreds of people stood shoulder-to-shoulder during the service.
Investigators say that violated a county order that banned gatherings of ten people or more.
Also on Monday the pastor accused the media on Twitter of stirring up religious bigotry and hate during the coronavirus outbreak.
