According to Staples Center officials, Kobe Bryant’s widow Vanessa has requested that all the memorabilia left by mourning fans in front of the arena be sent to her.
She wants to keep some of the items used to honor her late husband.
Fans have been leaving t-shirts, letters, basketballs, stuffed animals and toys for a week.
The Staples Center says it will grant her wish.
The items will be placed in containers and sent to her.
The perishable items like plants and flowers will be composted and spread across the Staples Center for landscaping.
Officials say fans are still welcome to continue visiting the arena.
But instead of bringing flowers and gifts, fans are now encouraged to donate to the “Mamba On Three” fund, which was established to honor and support the loved ones of the other victims involved in the crash.
