If you own a cat, check its pet food.
A Utah company is recalling 2 pound frozen bags of Quest Beef cat food over fears it may be contaminated with salmonella.
The product was sold nationwide.
Officials with the US FDA say salmonella not only affects animals eating the product but there is a risk to humans from touching contaminated pet products, especially if they have not thoroughly washed their hands.
Symptoms of salmonella infections in pets include being lethargic, diarrhea, fever, vomiting, decreased appetite and abdominal pain.
Pets can also infect other animals.
Consumers with questions should contact Quest at 801-432-7478.
