In a surprising new poll, Pete Buttigieg is the new Democratic presidential front runner in Iowa.
According to the new CNN/Des Moines Register/Mediacom poll of likely Iowa caucus goers, the mayor of South Bend, Indiana holds a clear lead, climbing to 25 percent.
It marks a sixteen point increase in support for Buttigieg since the September poll.
Behind Buttigieg there is a close three-way battle for second.
Massachusetts Senator Elizabeth Warren is at 16 percent and former Vice President Joe Biden and Vermont Senator Bernie Sanders are each at 15 percent.
Minnesota Senator Amy Klobuchar follows them at 6 percent.
The fifth Democratic presidential debate will be held in Atlanta on Wednesday, November 20 at Tyler Perry’s studio.
MS-NBC has broadcasting rights for this debate and will be airing it starting at 9 PM.
