We have an update on the Mavrick Fisher case.
Fisher is the 21-year-old deaf man accused of killing 25-year-old Grant Whitaker, another deaf man, earlier this year.
Fisher’s arraignment hearing was held yesterday (Tuesday) at Lake County Superior Court.
We just spoke with the court clerk.
Fisher pleaded not guilty to all three counts, including murder.
His trial date is set for January 2, 2020.
However he will have a settlement conference on December 3rd.
That’s where Fisher, his lawyers and prosecutors have the option to reach a settlement to avoid a trial.
If no settlement is reached, the trial will go on as scheduled.
Court officials say the trial is estimated to last three weeks.
