Overnight the coronavirus crossed another dark milestone in the US.
The death toll is now over 7,000 people.
And the coming days don’t offer any signs of relief.
White House experts stay current models show that more than 2,000 Americans could die every day by mid April.
Earlier this week White House experts predicted at least 100,000 Americans could die from the virus and that’s if residents strictly abide by federal social distancing guidelines.
White House coronavirus task force member Dr. Deborah Birx says without social distancing measures in place, deaths could be as many as 2.2 million.
That’s because new CDC research suggests one out of four coronavirus carriers in the US are walking around with no symptoms at all.
On a positive note, officials in Washington State’s King County, the country’s first coronavirus epicenter, say they believe social distancing measures are paying off.
Health officials there say they are beginning to see a positive impact from less people coming in contact with each other.
