California is taking one of the most drastic measures to combat the spread of coronavirus.
The governor has issued the first statewide mandatory restriction, ordering all 40 million Californians to stay home and remain in place until further notice.
It went into effect Thursday night.
The governor says that more than half of all state residents will come down with coronavirus in the next eight weeks.
The order says that unless you have some type of essential activity that you need to attend to, you should stay indoors.
Here are the essential services that will remain open in the state or in other words places that will remain open under this order.
You can leave the home to go to the supermarket, get medicine and of course the hospitals are open.
Police departments and firefighters are still working around the clock.
You can also go outside to get some exercise, take a walk or ride your bike.
Just make sure you’re practicing social distancing.
As of Friday morning, nineteen people have died and more than 900 tested positive for coronavirus in California.
