The CDC confirms the fifth case of the coronavirus in the US.
This after new cases were just verify Sunday.
The patients are in California and one is in Arizona.
The two previously confirmed cases are in Illinois and Washington state.
Health officials say all five patients had recently traveled to Wuhan, China, the epicenter for the coronavirus.
About 100 people are being tested for the virus in the US but most test results have been negative.
No deaths have been attributed to the virus in the US.
Unfortunately the death toll in China continues to rise.
Health officials say 80 people have died and 2,800 cases have been confirmed.
The country has initiated emergency procedures to try and rein in the virus’ rapid spread.
Fifteen cities with a combined population of over 57 million people have been placed under full or partial lockdown.
But Chinese health officials say even with extreme measures, the task of controlling the spread of the virus is difficult because it can spread before any symptoms appear.
That means carriers may not realize they are infected before transmitting the virus to others.
