Another grim milestone in the coronavirus pandemic.
According to figures from Johns Hopkins University, global cases have surpassed 22 million worldwide and nearly 780 thousand deaths globally.
The US has the highest figures with almost 5.5 million cases and 172 thousand deaths.
Followed by Brazil with 3.4 million cases and 109 thousand deaths.
According to the Pan American Health Organization, North and South America now account for 64 percent of the world’s Covid-19 deaths.
Meanwhile a recent poll shows almost seven in 10 Americans say they are embarrassed by the US response to the coronavirus.
That’s according to a new CNN poll conducted by SSRS.
62 percent of the public says President Trump could be doing more to fight the outbreak.
The poll finds disapproval or Trump’s handling of the outbreak at a new high of 58 percent.
55 percent of those polled think the worst of the pandemic still ahead.
