This is the official baseball card of Dr. Anthony Fauci throwing out the first pitch of the Washington Nationals major league baseball season opener.

The picture captures Fauci in mid pitch with the ball just leaving his hand.

He is wearing a white Nationals’ jersey with a red custom-designed Nationals mask.

The picture makes it look like Fauci has a heck of a fastball.

Actually Fauci is an awful pitcher.

The renowned disease expert’s pitch didn’t even come close to home plate.

He missed the catcher by a mile!

But the moment has apparently captured the hearts of baseball fans.

Baseball card company Topps release the limited-edition Fauci card last week.

It was only available for 24 hours.

More than 51,000 Fauci fans snagged it when it hit the site.

On Monday the company said the Fauci card just became the best-selling card in the history of ToppsNow.
