People across the country are giving thumbs up to clear masks that have been growing in popularity, especially in the Deaf and interpreter communities.
Facial expressions are a vital component of communicating in ASL.
It lets Deaf people see the emotions and true meaning of words and phrases and allows people to lip read as well.
The cloth masks can be a hindrance to communicating in ASL.
Many clear masks offer an anti-fog protectant so there’s no steaming up.

A few days ago Sherri Collins, the Executive Director of Arizona’s Commission for Deaf and Hard of Hearing spoke at a press conference and explained why clear masks are ideal for communicating while also maintaining safety.
The US has set another single-day record for coronavirus cases, recording more than 67-thousand new cases Tuesday.
Also Tuesday more than 900 more deaths were reported across the country.
