It was a destructive night of unrest all across the country Friday night.
Protests erupted in at least 30 US cities over the death of unarmed black man George Floyd.
Floyd died a few hours after police officer Derek Chauvin knelt on his neck during an arrest.
Thousands of people were arrested and dozens of buildings and police cars were damaged.
There was even a clash in front of the White House between protesters and Secret Service agents.
Hundreds of protesters also converged on our affiliate partner CNN.
The CNN Center in downtown Atlanta is less than 5 miles from our Sign1News studio.
The CNN building sustained heavy damage as demonstrators broke windows and spray-painted messages on the building.
A digital billboard across the street from the CNN Center had a message of its own for protesters.
It simply read “If you love Atlanta, please go home!”
The epicenter of the protest in is Minneapolis, Minnesota.
Regardless of the 8 o’clock curfew imposed by the mayor, protests had been going on for four straight nights.
Three police precincts have gone up in flames and dozens of businesses destroyed.
