Tuesday Dr. Rick Bright, the ousted director of the federal office involved in developing a coronavirus vaccine, formally filed a whistleblower complaint.
Bright alleges his early warnings about the coronavirus were ignored.
And that he was removed from his position because he questioned the use of hydroxychloroquine, drug promoted by President Trump.
In his complaint Bright says he raised concerns about US preparedness for coronavirus starting in January.
But he says he was met with indifference and then hostility by Health and Human Services department leaders.
Bright lead the Biomedical Advanced Research and Development Authority since 2016.
But in April he was reassigned to a smaller position at the National Institutes of Health.
In a statement the Department of Health and Human Services said Bright has not yet showed up for his new position.
Bright’s attorney says her client still does not know what his new position is because no one has contacted him.
Bright is asking for his old job back and a full investigation.
