By the end of the week, more than half of US states will begin reopening.
President Trump also says federal distancing guidelines will begin fading out as restrictions are lifted.
But that doesn’t mean life is immediately going to return back to normal.
According to a memo sent to state police agencies, starting Friday California’s governor Gavin Newsom is set on shutting down beaches and parks.
Newsom’s plan comes after thousands of residents took to the beaches in Orange and Ventura counties last weekend.
Earlier this week Newsom blasted beachgoers saying the virus “doesn’t take the weekends off.”
In Florida, Miami-Dade and two other counties will continue with lockdown restrictions even as the rest of the state begins to reopen.
And the nation’s top infectious disease expert Dr. Anthony Fauci says it may be a year before sports return to normal in the US.
