This weekend more protests erupted calling for an end to stay-at-home orders as protesters ignored social distancing guidelines.
In recent days, Michigan, Ohio, Kentucky, Minnesota, North Carolina, Utah, Colorado and Washington state have all seen protests.
Over the weekend car horns blared in the streets in Annapolis, Maryland as members of the group “ReOpen” protested, saying the closures have been financially devastating.
Maryland’s Republican governor responded that he understands the frustration of the people that want to get things reopened right away and that he is frustrated also.
But he said he doesn’t think it’s helpful to encourage demonstrations.
More protests are expected on Monday including in western New York state.
Some health officials and governors say a lot more testing is needed before restrictions are eased.
According to data from Johns Hopkins University, as of Monday morning, the US has reported over 759-thousand coronavirus cases and 40-thousand deaths.
