On Thursday afternoon President Trump plans to talk about guidelines for reopening the country.
He made the big announcement in Wednesday’s White House briefing.
Trump says the US is past the pandemic peak.
But despite the bending of the national curve, different parts of the country are on different timelines as governors have the final word on when and how they will move their economies forward.
Los Angeles is seeing record deaths for a second straight day and is planning on banning concerts and sports until 2021 at the earliest.
In New York the governor issued an executive order requiring people to wear masks in places where they cannot maintain social distancing.
The current federal guidelines for social distancing expire at the end of the month and are not expected to be renewed.
