Almost all Americans are now under stay-at-home orders due to the novel coronavirus.
The total is about 300 million people or 90% of the country.
However at the time of this broadcast a number of states are still holding out.
The nation’s top infectious disease expert Dr. Anthony Fauci says the entire nation should be under stay-at-home orders.
But President Trump says the primary responsibility doesn’t lie with the federal government.
He maintains a nationwide stay-at-home order is not necessary.
While the federal government and state leaders debate back and forth over stay-at-home orders, the Department of Defense is on a grim mission.
Officials are collecting 100,000 body bags for victims of the coronavirus pandemic.
According to a member of the DOD, roughly half of the pouches are already on hand and the other 50,000 will be procured from existing supplies.
This comes days after President Trump warns the next two weeks will likely see more cases and deaths.
The President said that even if federal guidelines are followed exactly, there could be between 100,000 and 240,000 fatalities linked to the disease.
New York State has the most deaths in the nation and the New York City office of the chief medical examiner has employed dozens of refrigerated trucks near hospitals through the area to hold onto the victims.
