More than 121,000 coronavirus cases have been reported in the US and more than half of those cases are in New York, New Jersey and Connecticut.
That’s why the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention has announced a new 14 day travel advisory urging people in those three states to refrain from nonessential domestic travel in an attempt to slow down the rapid spread of the virus.
Each state would have full discretion of implementing the advisory.
The advisory does not apply to industries like trucking, public health professionals, financial services and food supply.
President Trump was considering issuing an enforceable quarantine for parts of the states but later said it would not be necessary.
New York Governor Andrew Cuomo said Trump’s suggestion of a two-week enforceable quarantine was not legal or plausible.
