Millions of Americans across the US are waking up to new restrictions designed to curb the spread of the coronavirus as the virus continues to pose a threat to the US.
The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention recommends canceling or postponing events that have 50 or more people for the next eight weeks.
Large gatherings are banned in some states including California and New York.
Bars and restaurants in some states are closing early with others shutting down completely.
States including Ohio, California, Pennsylvania, Illinois, New York, Massachusetts and Washington have placed restrictions on the operations of bars and restaurants.
Illinois is shutting down completely to dine-in customers until the end of the month.
Washington State will also shut them down including recreational facilities.
Entertainment venues are becoming harder to come by.
And some public beaches are closing in Florida.
More than 30 million students are out of school.
And school districts and universities have started to transition to online methods of instruction.
President Trump says more testing will be available soon and that Americans shouldn’t raid grocery store shelves.
As of today (Monday) there are over 3,400 cases of the coronavirus in the US and 65 fatalities.
