Starting Thursday (Today) the 2020 United States census kicks off.
Households across the US will begin receiving invitations to complete the census online, on the phone, or through a mail-in questionnaire.
The census, which happens every 10 years, determines how many representatives each state gets in Congress, and how billions of dollars in federal funding gets spent.
The census is required by law, or you could get fined.
Despite all the controversy and debate, there will not be a citizenship question on the census forms.
The full national count will be completed by the end of the year.
