The quarantine on board the Diamond Princess cruise ship in Japan may officially end tomorrow (Wednesday) after more than two weeks of uncertainty.
On Tuesday the Japanese Ministry of Health announced that there are a total of 554 confirmed cases of coronavirus on the ship.
Japanese authorities have announced that passengers will be allowed to disembark, as long as as they’ve officially tested negative for the coronavirus.
But passengers are still uncertain of what is to come, and for those who have been tested recently the wait on board may continue.
The US has evacuated more than 300 Americans from the ship, 14 of which have tested positive for the virus.
As of Tuesday morning the coronavirus has infected more than 73,000 people around the world, mostly in mainland China.
The death toll is 1,873 including five people outside mainland China.
