As of Thursday (Yesterday) there are for 15 confirmed cases of the coronavirus in the US.
But health officials fear that the number will rise over the next few weeks and months.
The director of the CDC, says the coronavirus will last “beyond this year,” and CDC officials are preparing for the possibility of a widespread outbreak in the US.
The director says the disease can spread by people who aren’t showing symptoms.
There currently is no vaccine for the coronavirus.
As of today (Friday) morning 64,000 people have been infected by the disease.
The death toll continued to climb as well with more than 1,300 dead from the virus.
Health officials say a change in the way cases are tabulated caused the spike.
It’s not clear if the data proves the outbreak is bigger than previously thought.
