While the rest of the world has moved on from the disastrous earthquakes that struck Puerto Rico in recent weeks, our friends at Off The Grid Missions are just getting started with their relief work.
OTGM founder Angela Nardolillo sent us these amazing images from Puerto Rico to show the damage firsthand.
She says the OTGM team felt another big aftershock just as they were approaching the epicenter of the massive quake that struck last week.
The mission team is doing what it can to bring much-needed supplies and resources to the Deaf community in Puerto Rico.
The OTGM team travels the world helping Deaf residents affected by disaster.
But this mission trip is personal for Nardolillo.
Her own family in Puerto Rico was affected by the quake.
She sent me a video message to share what’s going on in Puerto Rico.
To Angela and the entire OTGM team, thank you for the update and the incredible work you’re doing.
Stay safe.
Hi Jethro!
This morning we got up and packed everything in the back of the Jeep.
It’s a lot of stuff.
We’re now going down to Ponce.
There a lot of people there who have no tents, they are sleeping outside and in their cars.
I saw one big group with a lot of children so we gave them supplies.
We are now going to the town where my family lives.
The military has set up tents behind the house.
That’s where the aftershock shook.
While we were there, there were a few aftershocks but understand that’s now where the epicenter is located.
Now we’re traveling more toward the epicenter.
We have so many supplies that people donated like tents, pillows, lights, food, sanitary and hygiene supplies for babies and adults, medicine, blankets, sleeping bags and all sorts of camping supplies.
We don’t know where we’re going next.
We don’t know what they need but we know there a lot of people that are living outside now.
Thank you.
