Yesterday (Monday) we reported on the Arctic blast that is hitting the U.S. causing temperatures to be colder than average in some parts of the country.
It is expected to last over the next few days and is already causing havoc.
On Monday a plane at O’Hare International Airport slid off the runway.
And FlightAware.com reports more than a thousand cancellations for flights heading to or leaving Chicago.
Tuesday night into Wednesday morning roughly 70% of the country, about 240-million people, will have below-freezing temperatures.
Winter warnings and advisories stretch from Colorado to Maine, to even Northern Florida.
For those who live in places like Georgia or Florida be prepared to experience teeth-chattering temperatures.
And in some states snow is already falling and the National Weather Service says more than 300 cold temperature records could be broken, or at least tied, by Wednesday.
Officials advise people who live in the affected areas to be extra cautious driving.
