Hate heart-healthy veggies?
A study says it could be genetic.
On Monday research was presented at the annual meeting of the American Heart Association.
And scientist found if you refuse to eat certain vegetables, you might be what they call a “super-taster.”
Super-tasters are people with extreme sensitivity to bitter foods, such as veggies like broccoli, cauliflower and cabbage.
People with the “bitter gene” are 2.6 times more likely to eat fewer vegetables than people who do not have that gene.
Food scientists are trying to develop ways to reduce the bitterness in veggies, in hopes of keeping another generation of super-tasters from rejecting vegetables.
