This is video from the chaos that ensued after a gunman opened fire at a family-friendly event in Gilroy, California Sunday evening.
Witnesses say a band was starting its encore at the annual three day Garlic Festival when they heard what they thought was fireworks or popping sounds that were part of the stage production.
But after a few seconds, people started falling down, including children, presumably from being hit by gunfire.
At least three people were killed including a six-year-old boy.
Almost a dozen others were sent to hospitals.
Several police officers were providing security for the event so the shooter was found less than a minute after the shooting started.
The shooter was shot killed.
Shooter has been identified as 19-year-old Santino Williams Legan.
Authorities think the shooter use a tool to cut through the fence to gain access to the festival.
A possible second suspect is being sought by police but it’s unclear what role they may have played in the shooting.
And check this out.
Even in the midst of the chaos, several people at the scene gathered together, formed a circle holding hands and started praying.
