Today Sign1News is wrapping up Deaf Heritage Month with a spotlight on an institution that for over 200 years has been the preeminent leader in educating deaf and hard of hearing students.
Since 1817 American School for the Deaf (ASD) in West Hartford, Connecticut has educated, empowered and inspired tens of thousands of children.
Those children, in turn, grow up to be successful adults who pass down the legacy of ASD excellence to today’s generation.
Sign1News anchor Jethro Wooddall caught up with ASD alum John A. Serrano whose ties to ASD started in the first grade and continue to this day on the Board of Directors.
