If you received a Covid-19 stimulus check for someone who died, the Internal Revenue Service is now saying those checks have been canceled.
The tax agency previously said those payments would need to be returned by family members.
In its rush to get checks to 160 million eligible taxpayers quickly, the money was spent to people who had filed in the past two years, some of whom have since died.
Meanwhile lawmakers are currently considering another economic stimulus bill, though it will likely be more selective in who receives it.
