Turn Off Light
And before we wrap up, here’s a friendly reminder: please make sure your pets are’s securely locked up before the fireworks start blooming and banging tonight.
Experts say that the July 4 celebration leads to more lost pets than any other day of the year.
That’s because so many pets are scared off from their homes by fireworks.
As a result July 5 is one of the busiest days at animal shelters.
Experts suggest micro-chipping your pets so you can be easily reunited with your pet if it runs away.
Also talk to your vet about anti-anxiety medication that may make the holiday less stressful for your animal.
And finally secure all the windows and doors to keep your pets inside your home for the night.
This will decrease the chance of them running off when scared.
