Fauci warns consequences of states reopening

Tuesday while appearing remotely during a Senate hearing the nation’s top infectious disease expert Dr. Anthony Fauci made it clear that if states reopen too quickly there could be more “suffering and death.”
Dr. Fauci also noting the number of US deaths may be far higher than the 80-thousand plus reported.
Meanwhile Disney is now accepting July reservations for its theme parks.
And Major League Baseball has reached an agreement to start the season in July.
But Broadway’s iconic theaters won’t be back before at least September 6 as the CDC reports there could be as many as 5-thousand additional deaths in the hard-hit New York City.
The mayor of New York City warns any reopening is still weeks away and depends on progress made which includes a steady decline in cases.
If they decline cases as part of the White House’s own guidance, which no state appears to have met.
Alabama, Texas and South Dakota are among states seeing a rise in cases.
In Georgia, one of the earliest states to reopen, cases remain steady.
And while September may feel like a lifetime away, there is pressure for answers about school this fall.
Dr. Fauci warning there is not a single solution and there also won’t be a vaccine in time.
With nearly every state scheduled to be partially open by the end of the week, Americans are not convinced officials have the virus under control.
According to a new CNN poll, more than half (54%) say the government is doing a poor job of preventing the spread.
While 52 percent believe the worst is still to come.
