Three of the nation’s top health experts are taking precautions after being exposed to coronavirus.
Dr. Robert Redfield, the Director of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and Dr. Stephen Hahn, the head of the Food and Drug Administration, are now in self quarantine.
And the nation’s top infections expert Dr. Anthony Fauci says he will began a modified quarantine, meaning he will stay at home and telework and wear a mask continually for 14 days.
All three were exposed to someone at the White House who later tested positive for coronavirus.
Officials will not identify the person who the men came in contact with but the news of their self quarantine comes one day after Katie Miller, the Press Secretary for VP Mike Pence, tested positive for coronavirus, despite White House protocols for social distancing, temperature checks and sanitization.
And anyone who comes near the President or Vice President is tested for Covid-19 first.
Miller is known to be often in the White House coronavirus task force meetings.
Fauci, Redfield and Hahn were also in attendance at many of those meetings.
All three are also scheduled to testify at a Senate hearing on coronavirus next week.
Redfield and Hahn will now testify by videoconference.
Fauci says he still plans to attend but will wear a mask.
However if circumstances change, he is willing to testify remotely.
