Wednesday is Earth Day 2020.
And the annual event is bringing a series of tornadoes to the southern plains and deep South this week.
Hundreds of tornadoes have been reported across the eastern half of the US since April 1.
Now another storm system could generate even more over the next two days, threatening parts of Oklahoma, Texas, Arkansas, Louisiana, Alabama, Georgia and Mississippi.
Officials say by late Wednesday afternoon, large hail and damaging winds are expected to develop in southern Oklahoma into north-central Texas.
A few tornadoes may develop over the region as well.
Strong or even violent tornadoes are likely over parts of Mississippi, Alabama and Georgia.
The National Weather Service classifies a strong tornado as bringing wind speeds of 111 to 165 mph, while a violent tornado can bring wind speeds of 166 to 200 mph or more.
