Britain’s Queen Elizabeth II turns 94 Tuesday.
The Queen canceled her usual birthday gun salute for the first time in 68 years.
On Saturday a royal source told CNN that she canceled the celebration because she felt it would be inappropriate due to the coronavirus pandemic.
Instead the palace is expected to celebrate the Queen’s birthday on social media.
According to the source, all family-related affairs, including phone and video calls with family members will remain private.
On Monday the Queen’s husband Prince Philip sent a thank you message to everyone who still works to keep the country up and running.
