Legendary actor Orson Bean was fatally struck by two cars Friday evening while walking across a busy Boulevard in Los Angeles.
Police say he was trying to cross off the crosswalk where there was no intersection or light when he was struck by a vehicle and fell.
Before people could rush to his aid, he was struck by a second vehicle.
Bean was pronounced dead at the scene.
Both drivers remained at the accident site and cooperated with investigators.
Bean died in front of the Pacific Resident Theatre.
He was crossing the street to see his wife, actress Allison Mills, perform in a play there.
Mills came out to the crash scene after hearing the news.
A small memorial has started to grow in front of the theater at the spot where Bean died.
Bean had more than 100 credits in movies, television shows and game shows over his 68-year acting career.
Bean was 91 years old.
