And apparently a presidential impeachment didn’t stop Congress from crossing party lines to pass a $1.2 trillion spending bill on Thursday.
The spending bill keeps the government-funded and avoids another holiday shutdown.
The Senate passed a bill by approving two Senate legislative spending packages.
The first measure passed by a vote of 71 to 23.
The second passed later in the day by a vote of 81 to 11.
Both are now clear for the President’s expected signature.
But if you remember, last year Trump vowed he would never sign another sweeping spending bill to avoid a government shutdown.
This agreement, however, targets some funding the White House sees as a victory, including a pay raise for military and civilian federal workers, funding for election security grants and gun research, and a repeal of three healthcare taxes designed to help pay for the Affordable Care Act.
