More than 100 vegetable products are being recalled for possible listeria contamination.
The recalled packages have a sell by date of November 16, 2019 and include some varieties of Mann’s, HEB, Del Monte and Trader Joe’s.
Listeria is a bacteria that can cause listeriosis.
Listeriosis can cause fever, headaches, stiffness, nausea, abdominal pain and diarrhea in healthy people.
However, the infection can be fatal for some people.
According to the CDC, pregnant women and their newborns, adults over the age of 65 and people with weakened immune systems are at the most risk.
According to the CDC, an estimated 1,600 people are infected by listeriosis every year and approximately 260 die.
So far, there have been no reported illnesses associated with the use of these products.
