Fires across California continue to rage.
On Thursday sometime after midnight a wildfire called the Hillside Fire broke out into part of San Bernardino, California.
The wildfire engulfed a few homes overnight and quickly consumed about 200 acres.
Officials are urging 1,000 people to stay away as the battle continues Thursday morning.
Some areas are expected to have winds stronger than 50 mph, leaving over 17 million people in Southern California under red flag warnings.
Also on early Thursday morning, another wildfire called the 46 Fire broke out in Jurupa Valley and forced mandatory evacuations.
In Northern California, officials are optimistic, saying they’ve made progress towards containing the week-old Kincade Fire.
Officials say there is still a risk of the fire spreading but it has not gotten significantly larger over the last several days.
They also say they are not expecting heavy wind conditions for the next several days.
There are at least more than 10 active wildfires across the state.
