The fallout continues from a whistleblower complaint centering on President Trump’s July 25 phone call with Ukraine’s president.
On that call, Trump asked the leader to dig up dirt on his possible 2020 opponent Joe Biden and Biden’s son.
The complaint has been made public and is shedding new light on the conversation including the White House’s attempt to lockdown all records of the call.
Now Trump is lashing out at Democrats and the whistleblower.
At a private breakfast, Trump demanded to know who tipped off the whistleblower, saying “that’s close to a spy.”
Trump also predicted the economy would collapse if he’s thrown out of office.
A supporter who’s spoken to the President in the last twenty-four hours described Trump as “more distracted” and less focused than usual and not really coming to grips with what’s happening.
The complaint is damning not just for the President but potentially for White House aides.
Not only did the whistleblower say Trump’s “actions posed risks to US national security” but the complaint warns White House aides were worried they were being asked to cover Trump’s tracks.
The White House Press Secretary released a statement saying: “Nothing has changed with the release of this complaint which is nothing more than a collection of thirdhand accounts of events and cobbled together press clippings.”
