Bond is denied for the airline mechanic accused of trying to sabotage an American Airlines flight this summer.
The judge also says the suspect may have sympathy towards terrorists.
Prosecutors Alani had forwarded a terror video on his phone to an unnamed individual.
Experts worry about copycats.
Abdul Majeed Marouf Ahmed Alani will remain in custody until his trial.
The 60-year-old is charged with “willfully damaging, destroying, disabling or wrecking an aircraft.”
American Airlines has fired Alani saying it’s cooperating with the investigation.
According to court documents Alani said he didn’t mean to harm passengers.
But rather was upset with a contract dispute and hoped tampering with the plane would lead to overtime pay.
As of now he’s not facing any terror-related charges.
