President Trump has named a new national security adviser.
In a tweet Wednesday morning, Trump announced Robert O’Brien will take over for John Bolton.
The announcement came a week after Trump fired Bolton, citing disagreements on several issues.
However Bolton denied he was fired and said he offered to resign.
O’Brien is currently serving as Special Presidential Envoy for Hostage Affairs at the State Department.
The Senate does not have to confirm the national security adviser.
