The far-right is gaining visibility in Germany and so are symbols of hate.
Some groups have found ways to get around Germany’s hate speech laws with one cafe proudly selling not-so-veiled neo-Nazi merchandise.
It’s called the “Golden Lion” and you don’t need a menu to see what this place is all about.
The owner Tommy Frenck wears his politics on his skin: the word “aryan” is tattooed around his neck but he denies he’s a neo-Nazi.
However Frenck won’t explain what his T-shirts mean and denies that he is spreading Nazi ideology.
But he claims that his sales had grown by 10 percent over the last three years, echoing the rise of far-right politics across Germany.
Frenck says he’s not a white supremacist.
He’s just proud of this nation and his heritage and that doesn’t make him a bad guy.
He says he’s a normal person.
And that’s exactly what some fear: that what Frenck is selling may be accepted as normal.
